THIS game was more comfortable for Grays than the scoreline suggests, but MK Irish, making their debut in the competition, put bodies on the line to repel a host of chances for the home side.
Harry Hope had a great early opportunity for Grays, but visiting keeper Tom Ladyman made a fine save.
It took a penalty to break the deadlock when Jayden Silcott-Brown was downed in the six-yard box and Callum Fitzer converted.
But Irish hit back immediately when Clinton Zawe’s cross was finished by Owen Brooks.
