■ HEATON Stannington were too strong for Emley on Friday night, beating the Pewits for the first time ever.
Dec Lambton was the busiest man on the pitch, but he was eventually beaten after 36 minutes, Leighton Hopper delivering a deft lob over the goalkeeper.
Max Storey nearly doubled the lead a few minutes later, but his shot went just wide of the target.
Lambton produced a breathtaking 47th-minute save to deny Dan Stephenson at almost point-blank range after a great pass from Connor Walker.
