■ CLITHEROE progress at the expense of league rivals Congleton Town.
The Lancashire side took the lead after just three minutes of play when Veron Parny drove the ball beyond Dave Parton. tain Jake Carroll managed to bundle the ball past James McClenaghan and into the back of his own net.
The hosts should have been ahead at the break captain Darren Chadwick’s Congleton managed to get themselves on the front foot and equalised after 26 minutes when Clitheroe cap-header from a corner cleared off the line.
