Beasant shines for Geordies

HANWELL Town secured their place in the second round of the FA Trophy with a hard-fought win at Clarence Park.
The visitors took the lead inside the opening ten minutes after smart play down the right saw the ball crossed in low for Dan Carr, who found the far corner of the net with a first-time strike.
Geordies goalkeeper Sam Beasant was called into action shortly after as St Albans searched for a leveller, palming Leo Sery’s near post effort away.
Alex Dyer then tested the Hanwell stopper with a low drive.
