In 2015, Sean McConville was on a high after helping Chester to their best finish since the club had reformed.
The Blues ranked 12th in the National League and surged to the FA Cup second round under Steve Burr – boosted by the attacking midfielder’s 11 goals.
Several weeks later, he was sold to Accrington Stanley.
“I didn’t want to leave but at that time the club needed the money,” he told The NLP. “I loved my season there, and I’ve always kept an eye on their results since.”
