A HARD-FOUGHT game between two Step 7 teams saw the team from Derbyshire prevail. With both clubs in the first round proper for the first time the game was played in ideal conditions.
Clay Cross were first to threaten and Josh Scully seized on a chance at the far post to give his side the lead on 13 minutes. Further chances fell to Josh Parfitt for Clay Cross but they were unable to extend their lead in the first half.
