WEST AUCKLAND captain Lewis Dodds fi red his side into the last 16 of the FA Vase.
Dodds struck two minutes into the second half after the fi rst had been ruined by a strong wind.
Peter Till went close for Walsall Wood just 15 minutes into the tie in County Durham. Cutting in from the left he crashed a shot against the post from inside the box.
Liam Hegarty’s shot was smothered by Wood keeper Lloyd Ransome before the break.
