MERSTHAM moved three points clear of relegation and left ten-man Met Police looking over their shoulders when they capitalised on Met’s sloppy defensive display.
And the hosts’ cause wasn’t helped when full-back Sam Williams saw red on 59 minutes.
The Moatsiders’ Dan Bennett struck the crossbar in the opening moments.
And they opened the scoring on nine minutes when Tom Kavanagh powered the ball into the net following a fumble by Met keeper Brannon Daly.
