ON A day when Great Wakering Rovers finally found some fight, a second-half comeback wasn’t enough to save their Ryman League status.
Abbey fired themselves into the lead through Billy Holland, before Arian Retkoceri made it two and Romaric Logon notched number three.
Then came the fightback.
Jake Gordon fired his penalty past Lewis Lockyer, Scott Pethers’ overhead kick gave the supporters hope and the comeback was complete when Steve Butterworth smashed home.
