MERSTHAM secured a vital three points as they seek to avoid the drop, thanks to a rare moment of quality by Omar Folkes. The first half was a pretty dire affair, with both sides giving the ball away all too frequently.
The best chance fell to Merstham skipper Tom Kavanagh, whose side-foot finish was kicked off the line by Town’s Harry Barker.
The game burst into life at the start of the second half and Merstham broke the deadlock on 51 minutes.
Merstham keeper Josh Smith made a good save from a close range header and from the clearance, the Moatsiders launched a quick counter attack.
