HAMMERS AIMING FOR NON-LEAGUE

UPTON PARK chairman Jon Hunter hopes the club can keep reviving interest in their famous name with the long-term plan to enter into a league.
Back in Novemer they held a special game against Clapham Rovers to commemorate the first ever goal scored in FA Cup history by Jarvis Kenrick in 1871. The game was played at West Ham Park, on the same site as the original fixture.
Since then Upton Park played against a Jersey FA side and yesterday, following the inter-island clash between St Paul’s and Guernsey Rovers for the Upton Park Trophy, took on Guernsey FA.
