■A GOAL at the start of the second period from ex-Whitehawk striker Gold Omotayo separated the sides in this absorbing pre-season clash at the Deva Stadium.
Omotayo’s close-range strike came after Chester failed to clear a low cross into the area on 49 minutes.
Defensively, Chester were impressive against the League Two outfit, but up front they lacked penetration and a cutting edge to trouble a workmanlike Bury side.
