Billingham Town 0-2 Gateshead: Great Scott is back on song

TWO quickfire first-half goals earned a below strength Gateshead victory at Northern League Billingham Town.

New signing Cedwyn Scott and teenage striker Eddie Thomas pounced on 24 and 26 minutes.
With most of the first team squad involved in a training ground game at Sunderland in the morning, a raft of academy players featured on Teesside.
Scott missed an early chance and was then denied by Town’s on-loan young Boro keeper Henry Popple.
Undeterred, Scott soon found the net with a diving header from fellow first team man Greg Olley’s cross.
