CHESTER came out on top in a keenly fought clash between two fan-owned clubs.

After a turgid first period, where the only incident of note was a fiercely struck penalty from Chester’s Anthony Dudley that rattled the base of the Bury post before going to safety, the game bounced into life in the second half.
George Glendon was imperious in midfield and opened the scoring for the home side after 48 minutes when he drilled an unstoppable effort home from 18 yards.
