ALVECHURCH held their National League opponents Solihull Moors to a draw in an entertaining pre-season friendly at Lye Meadow.
Kieran Wakefield’s early strike was cancelled out by Joe Sbarra for the visitors in a midday kick-off in an attempt to beat the worst of the afternoon heat.
Church started the brighter and took the lead early on through Wakefield, who latched onto a ball in behind the Moors defence and squeezed a low effort under goalkeeper Nat Ford from close range with just seven minutes on the clock.
