Get shot of cup replays

I AGREED with much of what Ian Ridley had to say on the subject but not about retaining FA Cup replays (NLP, August 13).
Replays are outdated and all games should be settled on the day with extra time and penalties if need be.
We have to accept the FA Cup will never be the competition it was. The qualifying rounds are great but once it reaches the third round, the top flight clearly have other priorities.
