You can’t gloss over tradition

FOR the first time ever I feel compelled to write to your excellent publication over plans by certain Evo-Stik Southern League clubs to dispense with issuing of matchday programmes in favour of digital online issues only.
Apparently, the powers that be within the corridors at the Southern League have agreed that clubs may, if they wish, issue online copies of the programme ONLY, provided that they are available at least 24 hours before the game in question.
The reason given by clubs is that they are losing ‘thousands of pounds per season’ through printed unsold matchday programm...
