PENRITH have promoted first-team coach Andy Coyles to manager following the departure of Kyle May.
Coyles, a senior Northumbria University lecturer and head coach of the England University men’s side, joined the Northern League outfit a year ago.
He soon found himself running the team on a caretaker basis following the resignation of Jim Nichols after a run of poor results, before former Workington man May came in as player-coach.
A spokesman for the Frenchfield Park club said: “Andy proved an outstanding candidate with a superb track record of achievements.”
