BOTH sides played their part in an absorbing draw, but the result virtually extinguished any faint hopes that either had of making the play-offs. Chester battled back twice, which showed character after the midweek 6-0 humbling by Stockport. York started the stronger, with Chester keeper Grant Shenton forced to make saves from Sean Newton and Macauley Langstaff.
