A FIFTH win in a row saw Blyth Spartans increase their chances of finishing in a play-off position.
Blyth once again scored early, through Kieran Green, and then defender Nathan Buddle added another late on.
It was a hard-earned victory ahead of Monday’s trip to FC United, Guiseley remaining fourth-bottom.
“It was a battling performance in a scrappy game – and a big three points,” said Blyth boss Alun Armstrong.
