Marine still in real danger after draw

BASFORD and Marine fought out a stalemate in the sun that did neither side any favours.
The result ended Basford’s slim play-off hopes and did little to ease Marine’s relegation fears.
Marine had the better of the chances and Brett Mbalanda had a great opportunity to open the scoring in the eighth minute but he put his shot wide.
Matt Thornhill’s tenth-minute free-kick struck the Marine post and four minutes later it was the Basford post that was clipped by defender Lewis Carr’s back header.
