BILLINGHAM Town will be playing First Division football next season after a sterling campaign ended with them clinching the Second Division title thanks to a 2-1 win at Heaton Stannington.
An own goal on 15 minutes and Craig Hutchinson’s 35th-minute strike when a loose ball fell to him in the box just about proved enough.
Heaton Stannington had equalised on 22 minutes as Connor Campbell slipped the ball past the advancing keeper but Billingham held on.
