Play-off averages system is flawed

READING The Non League Paper last week (May 5), I would like to comment on the criteria for promotion from Step 4 being based on the bestpoints- average of five clubs from seven final winners.
I note then that the likes of Brighouse Town, despite their fine 3-0 win at Pontefract Collieries, have missed out on promotion due to a low average! Similarly, Heybridge Swifts, who despite beating Maldon & Tiptree in their play-off final, were denied a route to Step 3.
