DARWEN DELIGHT THANKS TO A TV CLASSIC

THEY play way down the Non-League pyramid but AFC Darwen have reasons to be cheerful despite their season being ruled null and void due to the coronavirus outbreak.
That’s because of the global popularity of the Netflix production The English Game, which highlights the Lancashire club’s former guise, Darwen FC, and their historic FA Cup quarter final match against Old Etonians in 1879.
It was a pivotal moment for the working class as English football went on to become a game for the masses, not just for public school teams .
