HATS off to those National League North and South clubs who fought so hard to keep their play-off dream alive.
When government guidance on ‘elite’ sport appeared to dash their hopes, they banded together to put pressure on the National League to challenge the ruling and seek further clarification.
The league thought the Step 2 clubs would just go ‘ooh dear, that’s it then’. They were badly mistaken.
Providing the clubs can work within the testing and social distance protocols, there’s no reason why they can’t take centre stage.
