WELSH IS SHAKERS’ TOP MAN

BURY AFC have named former Sunderland midfielder Andy Welsh at their first manager.
Welsh, who previously managed Ossett United, and who also turned out for Stockport County, Blackpool, Yeovil Town, Carlisle United and Canadian Major League Soccer club Toronto during his 15-year playing career, was chosen from around 750 applicants for the job at the newly-formed North West Counties Division One North fans’ club.
