A FIRST goal of the season from Gavin Hoyte and a late clincher from sub Ibrahim Olutade ensured Maidstone booked their place in the third round after bring given a stiff test by Southern Premier League side Poole Town.
Both sides created chances early on - the most notable of which came when Mark Childs made a brilliant reaction save to deny Ibby Akanbi from close range.
Poole then went close themselves. The ball was slipped into Luke Pardoe who ran into the area, but he dragged his shot just wide of the left post.
