Egham Town plea after fire destroys stand

Two 14-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of arson following the blaze which tore through the Combined Counties League club on Tuesday.

A CROWDFUNDING page has been set up after fire destroyed the main stand at ‘s Runnymede Stadium.

Two 14-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of arson following the blaze which tore through the club on Tuesday.

It came as a result of a series of recent attacks at the Surrey club from vandals, leaving the club facing up uphill battle.

As a result, supporter Bradley Graham has set up the Crowdfunding page and within 24 hours over £3,000 of a £10,000 target was raised for the stricken Sarnies.

A club statement said: “It’s very humbling.”
