Tony Incenzo: Thumbs-up for the addition of play-offs at steps 5 and 6

Although the Football Association is yet to confirm the arrangements for the commencement of play-offs across all of these leagues officially, some plans have been published on various websites and social media.

I AM very excited by the news that play-offs are to be introduced at Steps 5 and 6 of the National League System from next season.
A couple of the competitions involved – the North West Counties League and the Northern Counties East League – have had play-offs in the past.
Indeed, one of the best Non- League occasions I attended in recent years was the NWCL First Division play-off final in May 2017 when Litherland REMYCA went down 3-0 at home to City of Liverpool. The attendance of 1,303 that day was phenomenal for a Step 6 match with a vibrant carnival atmosphere generated.
