ALEX SAMI’S scored an early contender for goal of the season as Leatherhead won a thriller at Bowers & Pitsea.

The Leatherhead man hit a hat-trick to get his side’s season off to a flyer as they edged an entertaining opening day encounter.
A frantic start saw two goals scored inside the opening 15 minutes. First, Sami latched onto a rebound after Kweku Lucan saw his initial shot saved by Martyn Guest, before Bradley Sach equalised for Bowers, opening his account for the club from the penalty spot.
