BISHOP’S STORTFORD earned their first league win of the season when Frankie Merrifield atoned just after half-time for his first-half penalty miss.
The Blues’ Ryan Charles forced ex-Stortford keeper Joe Wright in the Hornchurch goal into a low save early on, having cut in from the right.
Other then that, it was a cagey first half with no real chances until the penalty.
Ronnie Winn upended Anthony Church in the box. But Wright got something on Merrifield’s spot-kick down the middle and Church couldn’t force home ...
