Charity stars are out at Corinthian Casuals

Charity stars

JOHN SALAKO, Andy Gray, Ian Selley and a host of ex-professionals will be starring in a charity match at Corinthian Casuals next month.

Ricky Newman, Carl Wilson-Dennis and Marvin Elliott will also feature in the Casuals v Kingstonian clash on Sunday, October 10, at 1pm.

The event is in aid of the Chris Donovan Trust, set up by Chris’ parents, Vi and Ray Donovan, MBEs. Chris was killed on a night out in May 2001 after a senseless and unprovoked attack in Ewell, Surrey.

After Chris’s murderers were jailed, the Donovans decided the only way to break free from their grief was to meet the killers and tell them they were forgiven.

Since then Vi and Ray have worked on restorstive justice programmes, visiting prisons regularly and helping people to move on with their lives.

Proceeds will also go to the Emily Ash Trust, which aims to raise awareness for the need for bone marrow donors to help treat leukaemia.

Gates at the ground open at 11am and attractions include a bouncy castle, assault course and a bungee run as well as a DJ, face-painting and a range of food and drink.

Tickets are £3 for adults and £1 for 5 to 15-year-olds. For tickets in advance call 07934517462.
