BOGNOR leapfrogged Margate in the table after defending resolutely for long periods of a thrilling game.
The Rocks took the lead after 18 minutes when Craig Robson rose unchallenged from a corner to head home.
But Gate’s Vance Bola gave the Bognor defence a torrid time turning them again and again, getting crosses and shots in, only for the visitors to survive until the break.
