■ A COMPETITIVE first half was made much harder in the second when the weather made conditions difficult.
The first chance came to Brightlingsea when the dangerous Connor Barnby got through and his low shot hit the post and keeper Danny Bracken turned round the rebound.
Casuals’ Kieron Cadogan saw his 25-yard free-kick go wide.
Again, Barnby was played through, and he turned his man and fired a shot that Bracken blocked only to find Jack Strange lunging in to clear.
