BATES BOWS OUT

ROB Bates has quit Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division strugglers Baldock Town – despite pleas from chairman Graham Kingham for him to have second thoughts.
Last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Oxhey Jets was the final straw for Bates, whose side were second from bottom having won just three out of 15 league games.
Kingham said: “I asked him to reconsider as I feel the team have been playing really well and would soon get the results they deserve. Unfortunately Rob had made his mind up and I had no other option but to accept that he wished to step aside.
