In the end, it took penalties to separate rivals Cheshunt and Bishop’s Stortford with the home side edging through thanks to George Marsh’s crucial spot-kick save.
Cheshunt boss Craig Edwards had just 13 players to call upon and suffered another early blow when Enock Ekongo had to go off with a head injury.
