Rarely has the town of North Shields experienced such a remarkable seven days.
Hometown hero Sam Fender – currently the most talked about artist in the UK music scene – landed his second Brit award when he was named as Best British Alternative/Rock act.
He sealed a busy 24 hours by returning to North Shields and passing his award on to the Low Lights pub – where it will be converted into a beer hand pump.
