BOWING OUT: Ryhope CW have quit the Northern League

RYHOPE Colliery Welfare have quit the Ebac Northern League less than a month after finishing their “most successful season”.
Ryhope finished fifth in Division One but have now resigned from the league citing a lack of volunteer support.
A statement from the club, founded by coal miners in Ryhope near Sunderland in 1892, said: “This is obviously not a decision that has been taken lightly but is the consequence, in the main, of the lack of volunteer support for our club playing at the level ...
