‘Superstar’ Seb is out of this world for Robins

‘Superstar’ Seb

CLASS ACT: ‘s Seb Bowerman

SEB Bowerman may be a bit embarrassed when his Bracknell Town boss Bobby Wilkinson calls him a ‘superstar’, but he’s certainly been one this past season.

And it’s been recognised with the Pitching In Step 3/4 Player of the Year honour at our Nationalal GameAwards – to add to all the other trophies he’s scooped this campaign.

The left midfielder finished top scorer in the Isthmian South Central Division with 27 goals as the Robins stormed to title glory, finishing 20 points clear of runners-up .

His heroics saw him land the Players’ Player, Manager’s Player and Supporters’ Player of the Year honours, highlighting what an incredible season he had.

Manager Wilkinson believes Bowerman has been worthy of all his successes in 2021-22.

The former and boss told The :

He cleaned everything up at the club and people think it’s simply because of his goals, but I didn’t give him my manager award because of that – it was his overall play.

“He set up so many goals and would even clear the ball off the line at the other end as well!

“He’s got a lot of accolades this year and deserves all the credit.

I’ve said in the past that he’s one of the top three players I have worked with – he’s so dedicated to what he does.

“I like to make my players feel special and I call him my ‘superstar’.

I don’t think he likes the tag, I think he feels it’s a bit cringey, but when he feels loved he will run through a brick wall for you.

“He’s a superstar on and off the pitch and brings the group together. He’s just a pleasure to work with.”

After his stunning campaign, all eyes will be on Bowerman next season to see how he handles the step up to Premier South.

Wilkinson added: “He’s had so many opportunities to go to bigger clubs, but he’s happy playing at his local club.

“He’s been here six years and is a real team player. It’s about the team for him and that’s why we have such a good group.

“Next season is going to be a challenge – he’s going to be coming up against some very good full-backs and they will know all about him, everyone is talking about him.

“He’s going to have to adapt and do a few different things, but he deserves to be there and, personally, I think he will relish the challenge, score goals and make them.”
