FARNBOROUGH player-coach Ricky Holmes has been taking advice from one of Non-League’s finest as he begins a new chapter in the game.
The former Charlton and Portsmouth winger initially joined Boro on a playing contract last summer, but a mid-season injury saw him transition to a role in the dugout, assisting manager Spencer Day during the Hampshire outfit’s dramatic run to promotion from Southern Premier South.
After signing a player-coach deal during the off-season, Holmes has been leaning on former Conference promotion winner Chris Wilder for tips on Non-League coaching.
