PICKERING TOWN had an opening day to forget on their Northern League bow when they were hammered 6-0 at Bishop Auckland.
Bishops scored three in each half, Wayne Whitfield’s early opener followed by a Craig Gott penalty. James Risborough’s free-kick made it three just before the break, Dane Burlace finding the top corner early in the second period. Risborough’s second of the afternoon and an Andrew Johnson freekick completed the rout.
