BOSS Ricky Marheineke reckons St Ives Town got “the best of both worlds” by drawing National League FC Halifax Town in the FA Cup. The Step 3 Saints have enjoyed a club-record run, seeing off Barking, Canvey Island and Chasetown to secure Saturday’s home with the Shaymen. Marheineke, who is in his ninth season in charge at Westwood Road, acknowledges there will be a significant gap to bridge but with Halifax still adjusting to life after Pete Wild, he is daring to dream. “It is the best of both worlds,” Marheineke told The NLP. ...
