AVELEY ensured they took full advantage of Hornchurch dropping points, with a controver sial Harry Gibbs winner away at mid-table Margate. The Gate had the game’s first real chance after 13 minutes when Nathan Wood beat onrushing goal keeper Jonathan North, but his looping header lacked power and North’s defenders were alert to it.
