■ WHILE the heat was a factor, this was a disappointing game, which Sittingbourne won with a header five minutes from time.
Sittingbourne dominated possession in the first half but without really threatening. The closest they came was a header from Donvieve Jones in the 37th minute which went narrowly wide. Just before the break, Merstham keeper Zack Basey made a smart save to deny El-Moghaebel.
As the game looked like ending goalless, Merstham conceded a needless freekick.
