HOMETOWN hero Bivesh Gurung’s head is still in a spin over the thunderbolt that fired Maidstone United into the FA Cup third round – but he hasn’t forgotten those who helped him.
The Maidstone-born midfielder blasted a 74th-minute winner into the top corner from outside the box to ensure the National League South Stones downed League Two Barrow 2-1 last Saturday.
Gurung is a product of the club’s youth set-up where he was spotted and offered a scholarship by Crystal Palace in 2017.
