■ SAM BERESFORD scored a hat-trick as Clevedon Town moved top of the Western League for Christmas following a 4-2 victory at Street.
Knowing a win would take them top, it took until the 41st minute for the visitors to lead when Freddie King’s free-kick was parried in to the path of Beresford to give his side the advantage at the break.
The same players combined for a second goal when the Street keeper was out of position and Beresford took advantage.
King turned from provider to goal scorer to seal the victory on 58 minutes before Beresford completed his hat-trick.
