LEWES came from behind to earn a point against Hastings United courtesy of Danny Bassett’s late goal, as they maintained their place at the top of the Isthmian Premier Division.
Things could have been so different had Hastings continued their excellent start, with Billy Vigar opening the scoring within just four minutes.
The goalscorer was perfectly placed to latch onto Freddie Legg’s switch of play before firing into the back of the net beyond a helpless Toby Bull.
