DANNY BASSETT was the saviour as his late strike earned Lewes a point against Bowers & Pitsea. Visiting goalkeeper David Hughes was called upon early, as he produced a one-handed save to deny Marcus Sablier, before then beating away Bassett’s effort.
In between those efforts, Bowers came close as Rohdell Gordon tried an audacious lob from 35 yards, his effort just clearing the crossbar.
