MILLERS’ BEERE LEVELS IT

A LATE goal from midfielder Tom Beere salvaged a point for the Millers as their push for the play-offs suffered another set-back against struggling Hastings United. Beere was unmarked when he ran on to a deep cross from left-back Tom Chambers to strike a sweet volley past Louis Rogers in the U’s goal.
The first half was pretty nondescript.
Neither side mustered a shot on target. The visitors had the best opportunity when Davide Rodari went clear but, despite beating keeper Max Ovenden, his tame lob went wide of the upright.
