THE BLUES moved into the top half of the table with this win.
It was Whitehawk who started strongest with a corner in the first minute – Imran Kayani hit the side netting with his header.
Wingate responded with attacking intent, creating several opportunities, but Whitehawk’s defence held firm. In the 36th minute, Wingate broke the deadlock when Whitehawk’s Stefan Wright turned the ball into his own net after a goal-line clearance attempt from Ogo Obi’s goalbound shot.
